Direct care means a direct relationship with your physician

We know that you're tired of the healthcare status quo, so we're changing the face of primary care. Our mission is to not only Advocate that you achieve your healthiest state possible, but that you also attain it in an affordable, timely, and personalized manner. Healthcare costs and appointment wait times have skyrocketed, while quality of care has severely diminished. We're putting an end to that.

A 2017 Merritt Hawkins Study found the average time to see your Houston Family Medicine doctor was 21 days.

In 2015 Becker's Hospital Review stated that on average a patient waits 22 minutes in their doctor's waiting room.

Putting YOU back in charge of your healthcare

Hello, I’m Dr. Shelton. Welcome to Advocate Direct Care.

My Vision

I'm returning to the days of medicine when:

  • You could see YOUR doctor the same day you were ill
  • Your doctor could spend over ten minutes with you
  • Medicine was affordable and no entities stood between you and your doctor

I want to be a true champion of your health. This is the Direct Primary Care Revolution and Advocate Direct Care is your home for personal service and high quality primary care.

I was born in Austin, Texas but raised three hours north, up the I-35 corridor in Dallas. While attending Highland Park High School, I ran cross country and upon graduation majored in psychology at the University of Georgia. Go Dawgs! Texas called me back home to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a doctor. After obtaining a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from The University of North Texas Health Science Center, I completed my Doctorate of Medicine at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth.
